In a significant market event, major technology companies Google, Amazon, and Meta have collectively lost nearly $900 billion in market value, as reported by Financial Times Markets. The substantial drop is attributed to investor concerns regarding the extensive spending on AI infrastructure by these companies. Alphabet (Google) alone has maintained a capital-expenditure guidance of up to $205 billion, while Amazon’s spending remains around $220 billion. This downturn reflects a broader skepticism among investors about the financial returns on AI investments.
The impact of this selloff extends beyond these tech giants, potentially influencing perceptions of AI-related ventures, including Anthropic, a key player in the artificial intelligence sector. The valuation of Anthropic is under scrutiny in prediction markets, which may be affected by the broader sentiment against AI spending excesses.
Key Takeaways
The market reaction to Google, Amazon, and Meta’s spending raises concerns about the sustainability of large AI investments.
Pricing suggests a potential decrease in Anthropic’s valuation by the end of the year, consistent with broader tech sector trends.
Anthropic’s valuation outcomes are being closely watched, with activity indicating varied expectations for its future valuation levels.
What to Watch
Observers will be keenly monitoring any strategic announcements from Anthropic’s leadership, including potential funding rounds or changes in partnerships with major tech investors like Amazon and Google. Developments in the tech sector’s spending patterns on AI infrastructure could also influence market perceptions and valuation predictions for Anthropic. Continued volatility in tech stocks may further affect Anthropic’s outlook as the year progresses.

Retail investors looking to invest in Anthropic, the AI company known for its Claude models, face limitations in acquiring shares before its IPO. Anthropic recently filed an S-1 registration statement in preparation for a Nasdaq listing under the ticker “ANT,” indicating its transition towards a public company. However, until the IPO is executed, direct investment is limited to institutional avenues or indirect exposure through ETFs and companies holding stakes in Anthropic, such as Amazon and Alphabet. The company’s potential IPO valuation has been reported to be as high as $2 trillion, though official IPO terms have not been confirmed.
Key Takeaways
Market activity suggests cautious sentiment about Anthropic’s IPO market cap, potentially influenced by retail investment limitations pre-IPO.
Anthropic’s move towards a public offering is supported by a recent S-1 filing, yet retail direct investment remains restricted until the IPO is finalized.
Current market pricing indicates varied expectations on Anthropic’s market cap at IPO close, with notable activity around a $1.75T to $2.0T range.
What to Watch
Observers should monitor updates on Anthropic’s IPO process, including any amendments to the S-1 filing that could set the IPO price range. Key dates include potential IPO roadshow announcements and SEC decisions regarding the effectiveness of the S-1 filing. Developments such as strategic investor moves or changes in secondary market valuations could influence market expectations for Anthropic’s public debut.

Elon Musk Drops Unexpected Reaction as Record-Breaking $6.3 Billion Binance Hack Rattles BTC, ETH, and XRP
The cryptocurrency market has been rocked by reports of a staggering $6.3 billion security breach involving Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, sending shockwaves through the digital asset industry as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple’s …
The cryptocurrency market has been rocked by reports of a staggering $6.3 billion security breach involving Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, sending shockwaves through the digital asset industry as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Ripple’s XRP come under fresh selling pressure.
Adding an unexpected twist to the unfolding drama, billionaire Elon Musk has reportedly weighed in, thrusting one of crypto’s biggest security scares into an even brighter spotlight and raising fresh questions about the safety of billions held on major trading platforms.
Binance Drained of $6.3 Billion
A fresh wave of selling has swept across the cryptocurrency market as renewed security fears rattle investor confidence, leaving major digital assets deep in the red.
Bitcoin led the downturn, shedding more than 3% over the past 24 hours and briefly sinking to $76,400 on Friday morning before clawing back some losses to trade around $77,336 at press time. The pain extended across the altcoin market, with Ethereum, BNB, the native crypto that powers the Binance ecosystem, Ripple’s XRP, and Solana also coming under heavy selling pressure.
The market downturn followed Binance’s disclosure on Thursday of a security incident involving approximately $6.3 billion in crypto assets, according to the report. Notably, the incident even dwarfs the $1.5 billion Bybit breach in 2025, which was attributed to North Korean hackers, making it the biggest crypto hack on record.
Binance co-founder and former CEO Changpeng Zhao, fondly known as CZ, weighed in on the incident, saying on X that it appeared to be a hack. Although he no longer leads the exchange, Zhao remains a major shareholder and an influential figure in the crypto industry.
According to Binance’s preliminary findings, the attacker may have gained access through a DevOps engineer’s compromised laptop, using it to enter a service container and initiate unauthorized withdrawals. The exchange stressed that its investigation had found no evidence of wallet private keys being exposed, suggesting the suspected breach may have exploited internal system access rather than directly compromising the cryptographic keys securing user funds.
Binance Hack Triggers Urgent Hunt to Freeze Billions in Stolen Crypto
The incident has also prompted swift action from major stablecoin issuers. Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the company had frozen more than 1.567 billion USDT allegedly linked to the suspected Binance breach, stressing that safeguarding the crypto industry and its partners remained a priority.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire separately announced that more than 800 million USDC associated with the incident had been frozen in coordination with law enforcement. Circle said it would continue assisting investigators as they worked to establish what happened.
Meanwhile, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong revealed the exchange was taking steps to help contain the fallout, including blocking transfers to compromised wallets. In a post on X, Armstrong emphasized the need for a coordinated industry response, stating that Coinbase was “doing everything we can to support in the current situation.”
“Moments like this call for the industry to work together,” he added.
Elon Musk Drops Chilling AI Warning After Binance Hack
Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has raised concerns about a potential new threat to the crypto industry, predicting that superintelligent AI systems could eventually steal digital assets to finance their own objectives rather than serve human interests.
Musk shared the warning in an October 30 post on X while commenting on the reported $6.3B security incident involving Binance. He suggested that as artificial intelligence becomes more advanced and autonomous, some systems could seek access to money independently, writing: “Super intelligence agents will at some point do this to gain currency for themselves, not a human.”
Super intelligence agents will at some point do this to gain currency for themselves, not a human — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 30, 2026
Musk remarks were prompted by a post from crypto commentator Blaney, who described how the attacker behind the reported Binance security incident may have moved funds despite efforts to freeze the stolen assets. As the post noted, stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle froze billions of dollars’ worth of USDT and USDC linked to the incident, but the attacker allegedly obtained Ethereum before the restrictions could fully take effect.
Blaney also claimed the attacker deposited $60 million in USDT into the decentralized lending platform Aave and used it to borrow about $44.6 million in wrapped Ether (WETH). The alleged maneuver illustrates how decentralized finance protocols could potentially be used to move or obtain assets even as centralized issuers work to block suspicious funds.
Musk used the episode to raise a broader concern about the future of artificial intelligence, suggesting that increasingly advanced AI agents could one day carry out similar financial maneuvers autonomously to acquire digital assets for their own purposes rather than for human users.

The Taiwanese chip designer also began shipping its first AI accelerator in September and raised its 2027 ASIC revenue target to approximately $16 billion
MediaTek has landed a second customer for its custom AI chips, with mass production of those chips expected to begin in 2028.
The disclosure came during MediaTek’s third-quarter 2026 earnings call on October 30. The company said the new customer is not a Chinese firm, which pushes back on earlier market chatter that ByteDance was the mystery buyer.
What MediaTek announced
According to the company, co-design work with the second customer is already underway, with volume production targeted for 2028.
The first customer is further along. MediaTek began small-volume shipments of its first AI accelerator ASIC in September 2026, and CEO Rick Tsai pointed to strong demand for the product.
The numbers behind the pitch
MediaTek reported double-digit growth in both revenue and profit for the third quarter of 2026.
Consolidated revenue came in at NT$168.06 billion. That figure was up 10.4% from the prior quarter and 18.3% from the same period a year earlier.
Gross margin held steady at 46.3%.
MediaTek projected that data center revenue will reach $2.5 billion in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The company also raised its 2027 ASIC revenue target to approximately $16 billion. MediaTek estimates that figure could translate into around 20% of the AI accelerator market.
The second-generation chip
MediaTek’s latest-generation ASIC uses advanced multi-die packaging. Several of those dies have already been taped out, meaning the designs are finalized and sent off for manufacturing. The more complex versions are scheduled to enter mass production by the first quarter of 2028.
MediaTek expects the second generation to deliver performance-per-watt gains several times better than the first generation. It also anticipates a lower total cost of ownership for customers.
Why the customer’s nationality matters
MediaTek went out of its way to state that the second customer has no link to Chinese firms. Speculation had circulated that ByteDance was behind the deal. By clarifying that the buyer is non-Chinese, MediaTek removes one layer of uncertainty from a contract that won’t reach volume production for roughly two years.
What this means
Revenue concentration is a classic risk in the custom chip world. If one buyer changes strategy or brings design work in-house, a supplier can lose a big slice of income quickly, so diversifying the customer base makes the $16 billion target look less fragile.
Still, investors should keep the timelines in view. The first ASIC is only in small-volume shipments, the second customer’s chips are not expected in mass production until 2028, and the 2027 revenue figure is a target, not a booked result.
The near-term checkpoint is the fourth quarter. If MediaTek hits its $2.5 billion data center revenue projection, it will lend credibility to the much larger 2027 ambition.
MediaTek’s own estimate of around 20% market share implies it expects to win business that would otherwise go to rival chip designers.

Bitcoin (BTC) traded above $77,000 on Friday as crypto market liquidations passed $1.5 billion over 24 hours.
Key points:
Bitcoin stemmed losses after dropping to $76,320 as markets processed details of a $6.3 billion hack on Binance.
The effects of the hack on crypto markets were compounded by tech-stock losses that came with Q4 earnings projections. Intel Corporation (INTC) was down 26% premarket on Friday.
Bitcoin’s relative strength index prints a bullish divergence on four-hour timeframes as sell-side pressure waned below $77,000.
US tech-stock sell-off adds to crypto jitters after Binance hack
Data from TradingView showed BTC/USD dropping as low as $76,320 amid the fallout from a $6.3 billion hack of the largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance.

Rolling 24-hour liquidations of traders across the industry reached $1.56 billion. Long positions accounted for the majority of this figure at $1.31 billion, per CoinGlass data.

In its latest update on X, Binance described the attack as “complex,” reporting more than a single security breach during the episode.
“We are still gathering the facts, and will share more directly as we have them,” it wrote.
Downside momentum cooled after the company confirmed that all user losses would be covered from its dedicated SAFU fund and other company resources.
The hack added to macro pressure on crypto, with US stock markets falling on Thursday after tech earnings fell short of expectations. Alphabet missed earnings and revenue targets on Wednesday. In the aftermath, GOOGL fell by 13% to $282, its lowest level since April.

Intel shares plunged 26% premarket on Friday as the company issued a weaker-than-expected outlook, even though Q3 revenue and earnings beat estimates. Intel said it expects Q4 sales of $15 billion to $16 billion, versus analysts’ projected $17 billion to $18 billion.

BTC price bullish divergence emerges at local lows
On lower timeframes, BTC price metrics returned to levels not seen since BTC/USD hit multiyear lows near $57,000 in late June.

On Thursday, price closed below the lower band of the Bollinger Bands volatility indicator, a phenomenon last observed on June 25. Such a move reflects that price is trading more than two standard deviations below its 20-day simple moving average (SMA). While Bollinger Bands do not produce buy and sell signals, a close below the lower band can imply that a mean reversion is due. The 20-day SMA currently sits at $81,324.

The relative strength index (RSI), a popular leading indicator for price momentum, dropped to 34.7 on its 100-point scale on Friday. This is its lowest reading since June 30 and approaching its “oversold” zone below 30.
On the four-hour timeframe, RSI displayed a bullish divergence from the Bitcoin price, delivering a higher swing low compared to a lower low on BTC/USD. Such divergences can signal weakening seller control and a possible local trend change.

Polygon Network is partnering with Solana on its Open Money Stack, which connects bank accounts, crypto wallets, and other services. This follows a string of recent blockchain projects, including adding Tron support and acquiring Coinme.
Stablecoin Volumes Drive New Demand
Polygon Labs is expanding the Open Money Stack’s suite to cater to more networks recording huge user activity. The offering on Solana will let builders accept funding directly from bank accounts, handle payouts, and other multiple crypto services.
Stablecoin demand topped the reasons for the expansion to Solana and other networks. Earlier this month, it integrated on Tron, still based on stablecoin and user activity.
Both networks posted huge numbers this year, capturing a huge chunk of institutional and retail demand. Tron recorded $6.94 trillion worth of stablecoin transfers while Solana saw $5.76 trillion between January and October alone.
“As that activity grows, connecting Solana to bank accounts, wallets and global payout networks allows businesses to deliver stablecoin payments to more customers and markets.” Vibhu Norby, the chief product officer of the Solana Foundation, added.
These assets are growing in popularity because of institutional demand for digital asset products in the same period. Largely, stablecoins are seen as gateway or bridge assets that corporate holders use to gain exposure to other assets.
Stablecoins are the go-to coins before investors make a foray into other crypto like BTC, XRP, SOL, etc because they are tied to the dollar and lower risk. Also, most products lean towards users integrating stablecoins and then gaining decentralized finance (DeFi) exposure with these assets.
According to most users, this adds to the excitement of traditional firms already exploring stablecoin infrastructure. Banks moved on these assets to lower the cost of cross-border payments and improve processing speed.
As expected, volumes soared to new all-time highs on the back of fresh capital. However, regulators flagged instances of the asset class being deployed in illicit transactions, calling for tighter regulations. Generally, laws have become more positive, driving investment, though scrutiny and enforcement rose.
Marc Boiron, Polygon Lab’s CEO, explained that wide adoption and diversity paved the way for new integrations. “We hear from businesses that their customers and payment activity are already spread across networks and that they don’t want to force a chain choice or stitch together a bank provider, wallet, routing service and payout partner for each one.”

CryptoQuant has reported that the Coinbase Premium, a key indicator of Bitcoin’s price dynamics across exchanges, has hit its lowest level in four years. This metric measures the price difference of Bitcoin between Coinbase, a major U.S.-based exchange, and Binance. A negative Coinbase Premium suggests weaker spot buying pressure in the U.S. market, reflecting broader sentiment shifts. The last time it reached similar levels was after the collapse of FTX in November 2022, a period marked by significant market volatility and negative sentiment.
Key Takeaways
The decline in the Coinbase Premium appears to suggest reduced spot buying interest for Bitcoin on U.S. exchanges, which could imply broader market caution.
Historical parallels, such as the post-FTX period, suggest that this indicator might reflect negative sentiment in the market, affecting not just Bitcoin but potentially other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum.
The market for Ethereum reaching $10,000 by the end of 2026 currently reflects low confidence, with only a 1% probability implied by current pricing.
What to Watch
Market participants will be observing whether the negative trend in Coinbase Premium persists, as it may indicate continued weakness in U.S.-based demand for Bitcoin. Key developments in regulatory environments or significant announcements from major players in the cryptocurrency space could impact sentiment. Additionally, any changes in the Ethereum market, particularly related to ETF flows or technological upgrades, could influence the current pricing dynamics. Market observers will look for indications of a shift in sentiment or potential catalysts that could alter the current negative outlook.
